CHATBOTS
Chatbots are a form of AI that are designed to simplify human interaction with computers. Chatbots allow computer to understand and respond to human input through spoken or written knowledge. Chatbots provide 24/7 service and are great at acquiring customer information. There are either rule-based chat bots also known as pre-programmed chatbots that hold conversations using something called if/then logic. There are pre-defined questions asked to the user. They are simple and effective. The other chatbots rely on artificial intelligence technologies like machine learning and natural language processing. These are dynamic and don’t rely on call-to-action buttons to have a chat with user. They are more complex than user based. Eliza was the very first natural language processing chatbot created in 1966. This chat-bot demonstrated that how much AI could succeed in mimicking human responses.Focusing on assisting humans to efficiently perform tasks, chatbots have gone through many stages of evolution to become the modern assistive aids we know of today. The major revolution in AI chatbots came with the launch of Apple’s personal assistance ‘Siri’. Amazon released Alexa & Google developed its own dialog agent “Dialog Flow” that offers natural language processing capabilities. Earlier, chatbots just find the keywords, and respond accordingly and now they have started responding accordingly to the nature and type of user. Chatbots are now smart enough to analyze information and take key decisions on their own.Basic chatbots are still not different. But specifically made chatbots are AI based and do some real time interactions. Rapidly becoming an integral part of our lives, chatbots of the new age are enabling people to operate effectively and efficiently. The machine learning sits behind the chatbotallowing brands and services to create an interface that feels human and interacts in a way that people expect to be spoken to and dealt with. The more chatbots communicate with you, the more it understands and more it learns to communicate like you and other similar questions. Our responses reinforce its answers and then it uses those answers again. In AI based chatbots NLP allows user to simply chat with bot similar to text messaging instead of having to navigate through buttons and menus. Machine learning provides artificial brain to feed large set of data. These datasets consist of previous conversations and questions that can help the bot learn.
